LOOP LINE TASTING NOTES | The 2023 Le Puy de L'Ours Côte de Beaune 'Les Monsnières' Blanc is a refined expression of Chardonnay from a high-altitude vineyard at 350 meters on the Montagne de Beaune. Crafted by the dynamic duo Jean Orsoni and Juliette Puyperoux, this wine showcases their commitment to organic viticulture and minimal intervention winemaking. The grapes are hand-harvested, whole-cluster pressed, and undergo a 48-hour cold settling before fermentation with ambient yeasts in temperature-controlled tanks. The wine is then aged for 10–12 months in a mix of 228L and 400L barrels, with occasional bâtonnage, and only a minimal addition of sulfur after malolactic fermentation.

The 2023 vintage presents a pale straw color and offers an aromatic profile of citrus fruits, white flowers, and subtle vegetal notes. On the palate, it is light-bodied with invigorating freshness, a touch of lemon curd, and a mineral-driven finish. This Chardonnay is ideal for pairing with white meats, sweet cheeses, fish, and dishes like jambon persillé. With an alcohol content of 12.5%, it can be enjoyed now and has the potential to age gracefully for up to five years.
