Phelan Farms Bassi Syrah 2021

LOOP LINE TASTING NOTES | Phelan Farms is the new passion project from wine obsessive Rajat Parr. Parnering with the Phelan family, who has been tending to the land since 1851 (just after California became a state!). Inspired by the potential of his family farm, the current generation Greg Phelan planted grapes in 2007. Greg is focused on regenerative farming and creating biodiversity as a steward to the land. Phelan farms is a biodynamic haven filled with plants, livestock and two lovely Maremma sheepdogs: Fleurie and Leroy.

Fermented whole clusters of Syrah are fermented in a wood tank over a period of 16 days, before aged in old 500L puncheons. Explosive aromatics of blueberries, boysenberries, fracked black pepper and gentle spring flowers. Energetic, vibrant with a long violet-laced finish.
